Additionally, we build partners’ confidence in resource utilisation and project success by implementing well-defined systems, policies, and processes. Our adaptable governance approach remains aligned with tikanga while accommodating growth.

Cultural Revitalisation
Our focus is on nurturing the growth of cultural education within the community. This involves emphasising community participation in wānanga and cultural events while focusing on enhancing te reo proficiency. Additionally, we aim to foster essential roles within the marae, such as kaikōrero, kaikarakia, and kaikaranga. This multifaceted approach also includes establishing Ahurea Māori programmes in educational institutions, further enriching cultural knowledge and leadership capabilities.

Growing Resources
Our focus is on achieving financial sustainability through regular evaluation of the operational model and efficient resource allocation Additionally, it seeks diversified funding and strategic partnerships to ensure the ongoing sustainability of the marae.

Relationships
We focus on the interconnected Whangamatā ecosystem and the diverse contributors shaping the Whangamatā Community. We prioritise establishing connections with mana whenua within this intricate web of relationships. This endeavour aims to foster a nurturing community environment by actively engaging local entities in marae events and aligning our Trust’s activities with the objectives of critical funders and local government.
